Reviews for SKB SFR4 Freedom Deluxe Right-Handed Electric Bass Case
Feature: This case works perfect. It fit my bass better than the more expensive SKB model, and has storage for my cable, strap, and anything else I need to carry. The locks do keep the case closed, but the locking part is not very durable. If you pull on the latch too hard when locked, a piece of metal inside bends. The latch pulls up, but does not seem to open (I don't want to break it by pulling too hard). The outside plastic looks good, and does not scuff very easily. I was a little worried about my tuners touching the bottom of the case and turning, so I folded some paper toweling and put it at the end of the neck support, and that keeps the neck high enough for tuner clearance.
Quality: This case is amazing. The only complaints I have are as stated above, the locks aren't ultra-secure. Also, it has a strong glue smell, but if you leave it open all the time, it fades in a month or two. Other than that, it is a well made case. I cannot find any glue seepage, and the fuzzy padding inside is ultra soft and non marring.
Value: It is well worth the cost. After looking at other cases, this has a much better fit, and your guitar does not slide at all inside.
Sound: Sounds like the perfect case to me!?!
Overall: I would definitely buy another if this was stolen. It does have a lifetime warranty, so if it breaks, I get a new one. That is reassuring. SKB is the only hard case I would buy. Now if they only had an ATA bass case...
