Reviews for Focusrite Platinum Voicemaster Pro Feature: everything as it is advertised, works as advertised, but the vintage tube emulation needs come further engineering attention. Quality: someone had mentioned that it has inferior electronics because it is made in china. mine is also made in chine, i believe they are now all made in the p.r.c. thus the drop in price and increase in availability to the average home studio musician. but where it is made does not necessarily determine the quality of its electronics because focusrite still maintains strict quality control no matter where it is manufactured. so i highly doubt that 'made in china' is the cause for some of its unappealing aspects. it is more likely that focusrite designed it to be a "budget" product as a marketing strategy, like almost every other company in existance today. Value: you get what you pay for. Sound: i've used many such mono channel strip preamp/compressor/EQ units from joemeek to presonus to the SPL channel one and the voicemaster pro sits comfortably at slightly better than middle range. someone said it lacks 'character'...i reiterate this. but it's hard to find something wrong with it also. it's the "perfected radioshack quality". Support: no problem so far, no need to call them.
